Summer in the park

Central Park is green and lush at this time of year and the delights of summer are everywhere to be seen. One such treat is to stroll along the many pathways under tree canopies that reach far above one’s head, and to see the fading light of day slowly turning the leaves through various shades of golden green to dark. The mornings have their own light again, and it’s been especially amusing to watch the many birds in the park gathering twigs and chasing each other around the trees and shrubs…not to mention the squirrel shenanigans. Twice now, at different places, I have stumbled upon a pair of Cardinals playing chase through the foliage; and many other types of birds which I cannot identify as yet. The Blue Jays are more elusive, but I’ve seen one or two very briefly as well. The etching above is from a recent series I’ve been working on – this one being a Honey Eater.

This is my first visit to this “found” website. It’s so interesting, but I’ll have to digest it all first.
I’ll be back. In the meantime, I know some others who would love to see it.
