Markus Linnenbrink is a German-born artist living and working in Brooklyn. His temporary installation ‘Today will be like tomorrow’, produced for Gensler‘s Rockerfeller Center office atrium in Manhattan, creates a special experience between corridor and wall.
This commissioned piece involved using dry pigment and acrylic binder in an application that allowed the work to respond to the environment and create line and colour as it dripped and dried.
The result is an experience akin to walking through a veiled forest. In the drying process the colours appear in myriad combinations and interplay with each other. Their interplay is at once reassuring and surprising.
